TPU performs well across a wide range of temperatures. Compared with conventional soft PVC, which can become noticeably harder and less flexible in very cold conditions, properly specified TPU can maintain excellent flexibility at temperatures around -40°F (-40°C).

As environmental requirements and import regulations continue to evolve worldwide in response to growing environmental concerns, climate change, and the increasing impact of natural disasters, TPU provides an attractive material alternative. Depending on the specific formulation, TPU can offer environmental advantages over conventional PVC, including being PVC-free and avoiding the need for certain plasticizers commonly associated with flexible PVC.
📦 Lighter Weight = Potential Shipping Savings
TPU inflatables can often be made lighter than comparable PVC products. The reduced finished-product weight may help lower shipping costs, especially for our larger inflatables.
TPU does cost more, but for buyers/users who value flexibility, tear resistance, cold-weather performance, lighter weight, and a premium feel, we believe it is an option worth considering.
